The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Wellington, New Zealand commenced its official functions today (03 March) at its new premises at 8 Floor, 38, Petherick Building, Wellington CBD. Mr Sabapathipillai was the first visitor to receive Consular services from the High Commission. Coincidentally Mr Vallipuram Sabapathipillai had served as Sri Lanka's Trade Commissioner in Karachi, Pakistan before moving to New Zealand after a premature retirement from Sri Lanka Commerce Department.
The High Commission is still being established physically and functioning with elementary facilities.
