High Commissioner Prasanna Gamage attended the “Engineers’ Night 2025 – Glory of a Decade”

High Commissioner Prasanna Gamage attended the “Engineers’ Night 2025 – Glory of a Decade” event of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) – New Zealand Chapter on 04 October 2025 in Auckland as the Guest of Honour. The event was organised to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the IESL's New Zealand Chapter and to felicitate the founding members and other engineers who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields. 

In his address, High Commissioner Gamage emphasised the importance and need for professional contributions of Sri Lankan engineers in New Zealand and research collaboration for the betterment of Sri Lanka, the effectiveness and use of 'soft power' of professionals in promoting Sri Lanka as a destination among New Zealand citizens, and the necessity of remitting more funds to Sri Lanka to strengthen country's efforts in increasing and steadying its hard currency reserves. 

The High Commissioner also took part in the felicitation of professionals.
